Wedding Bells Are Ringing

Well, I’m officially more than 30 weeks pregnant now (three-quarters of the way there!). But more importantly, my sister’s wedding is only 15 weeks away!

Since we’re more than halfway through Emily and Sean’s engagement, I thought I’d give you a preview of their big day. But don’t expect me to reveal the good stuff like her amazing bridal gown – that’s definitely a secret saved for her walk down the aisle (although I am happy to say that she went with my great fashion sense and picked my number one dress choice for her, aka the RIGHT choice).

Guests at Emily’s wedding can expect perfection on August 25th. Being a Sassi sister, she’s creative with high standards, so I can assure you that every last detail will be beautiful. Plus, she has the help of me and Roberta to make her day perfect.

The theme of Emily’s wedding is love birds with a rustic garden charm. Her colors are the stylish combination of gray and yellow. The ceremony will take place at our hometown church, followed by an outdoor tented reception at Pratt Gardens, a private home known for its gardens that’s used for events in Woodstown, NJ (Woodstown is also the home of Cowtown, so picture farm country). It’s definitely not your typical wedding ballroom venue, which allowed Emily to be creative with the décor details. At the reception, guests will enjoy a delicious Italian buffet as well as an open bar and good dance floor music (two must-haves for a fun wedding, in my opinion…cash bar + bad DJ/band = lame wedding). I’m most looking forward to her wedding because it will probably be my first drinking opportunity post-baby. Can’t wait to toast the bride and groom with a nice glass (or two) of wine!

Here’s a bird clipart image that I made for Emily to use for her wedding stuff.

The reception tables will have a similar look with a burlap touch to give a rustic feel. Emily wants her wedding to look like a magazine wedding, and I’m sure it will.

Vintage glass bottle and mason jars will be used for the table flowers.

An outside wedding just isn’t as romantic without hanging globe lights.

We’ll be crafting wooden signage like this to lead guests to the reception.

This is one version of the bridesmaid dress – mine is slightly different with straps. Hopefully, I still fit into it after giving birth a month before. The pressure is on!

Of course for a yellow and gray wedding we need to have yellow shoes!

And, no doubt, Richard will be bringing his usual ridiculousness to the dance floor. His moves are not to be missed!
