It’s hard to believe but our Baby O is already one month old! And apparently he’s getting very big, since everyone says he looks more like he’s six months old. I’m starting to worry that in a few years we’ll be sending Owen away to fat camp for the summer. On the bright side, my arms are looking quite toned.
Richard and I decided that we’d like to take photos of Owen on his birthdate each month to capture his growth through his first year of life. We looked up monthly baby photos online for inspiration – there were so many great ideas, it was hard to decide what to do with Owen’s photos. We thought it would be fun to try a couple of scenes for the photos and go from there.
My parents gave us a small antique rocking chair and a super tiny rocking chair to sit Owen in for the photos. We bought a wooden number one that we painted orange. Then we used old toy alphabet blocks to write out “month.” To keep the photo scenes simple, we used a plain wall and a solid teal blanket as the backgrounds. In some of the photos, we included a teddy bear. We figured that the teddy bear and the rocking chair in the photos would show the changes in Owen’s size over the months by comparison.
Anyhow, here are the results for the first month! Let me know what you think. I’ve also included some of the outtakes as well as photos that we took on the beach on Owen’s one month birthday.
At the Jersery shore, laying on the beach…
Sliding off the chair with the teddy bear…
Falling off the chair (thank goodness Daddy has quick reflexes!)…
Owen, the model, having a diva moment…
oh my gosh, this is too cute! did you take these photos yourself? i love the props!
Thanks! Yes, I took the photos and my husband “positioned” Owen for the photos and kept him entertained and looking at the camera. I picked a few of my favorites and edited them in the photo editor from Google+.
They came out soooo cute!
Wow, Owen really sits pretty good without help for as young as he is!! The pics were really cute. He is getting big. You better change his cloths alot in a day so he doesn’t outgrow all of his cute outfits.
