Happy Thanksgiving!
Another month has gone by and our little turkey just keeps getting bigger. Owen’s fourth month was full of milestones and new experiences, including:
• His first trip to Daddy’s hometown, St. Marys, PA
• His first trip to Williamsport, PA to visit his uncle and aunt
• He watched his first college football game and cheered his uncle’s team onto victory
• He attended his first charity event and got to wear his first nametag
• His first Halloween and first costume!
• His first visit to Drexel University to see Daddy at work
• His first presidential election and first trip to the polls with Mommy
• His first natural disaster – he survived Hurricane Sandy
The bigger Owen gets, the more he can do. He can now rollover both ways, from back to front and front to back. But soon after learning to rollover from his tummy to his back, he stopped. Instead of trying to rollover, all he wants to do when he’s on his belly is crawl. He tries and tries, grunting and struggling. Sometimes he succeeds in getting his butt up in the air and scooting forward a bit. He gets so frustrated that he can’t move. Is it wrong that I find it hilarious?
Owen “talks” constantly now. He is a TV junkie, loves it almost as much as chewing on his hands. He recently discovered that he can suck on his thumb if his binky is out of reach. Best of all, he made it through sleep training successfully and he’s finally sleeping through the night. And most nights, he doesn’t even cry when he goes to bed in his crib (knock on wood).
Our 17 pound plus super baby is getting quite strong (and becoming an incredibly heavy car seat load). He likes to push with his legs and arch his back. Sometimes he arches it so much I think I need to get an exorcist. Who knew babies were like contortionists from Cirque du Soleil? With all this pushing and arching and squirming, Owen has become an escape artist who can now wriggle out of his swing and bouncer if he’s not strapped in.
So here are Owen’s 4-month photos…a Thanksgiving treat for you! Couldn’t you just gobble him up?
Here are Owen’s November-themed photos for his 4-month birthday. I have a feeling this hungry little man is going to love Thanksgiving when he’s older.
And this post wouldn’t be nearly as fun without the bloopers, so here you go:
Now that Owen moves so much, he slides a lot. Our solution? Sticking a rubber jar opener under his butt.
Excited, but not quite excited enough to move both sides of his body.
This is probably the least classy photo of Owen ever. All he needs is a beer can and a remote.
You want me to do what with this spoon?
The image of gluttony. One kitchen utensil just isn’t enough.
Naturely, I love all of the pictures, but my favorite has to be Owen with the turkey on the platter!!
He’s really cute!
