You’ve got to see my nephew’s adorable yet modern nursery! The aqua and spring green nursery decor with pops of peach is simply perfect for my sister’s sweet and snugly little baby Dominick.
My sister Roberta did a fantastic job with the design (not surprising, since she is so creative). She generously shared some info about the design and let me take lots of photos of the space. So get ready for the grand tour — this room is swoon-worthy!
Roberta wanted something different for the nursery colors, so she went with bright spring green and aqua. She decided to add in splashes of peach, something she was unsure of at first. But she ended up being very happy with the way the peach color pulled everything together and completed the look. It’s not too much; it’s just right. These nursery colors weren’t an easy combination to work with though. It was hard to find the right colors in a world of blue shades for boys’ rooms. Roberta was lucky to find spring green bedding and a rug at Pottery Barn in the perfect shade — and on sale too! A lot of the other items she painted herself or ordered customized from Etsy so she could match her color theme. She painted the small green side table and the peach monogram wall art. But Roberta didn’t overwhelm the room with the colors; she stuck with white furniture and white curtains to keep the space airy, fresh and simple. The white chandelier lends a funky, modern vibe that complements the older furniture pieces in the room and the white Jenny Lind crib.
Roberta designed the room on a tight budget. The dresser, rocking chair, and shelf were all Craigslist or yard sale finds (and gave the room a vintage feel). The upholstered chair and the cool chandelier are from Ikea. Looking at the results, you’d never know this room decor didn’t cost a fortune. Impressive, right?
