My sister hosted the most adorable Valentine’s Day party last week! Of course, there were lots of sweet treats, red and pink colors, and charming heart decorations. Owen and Carmendy had so much fun at the afternoon gathering celebrating February 14th with their cousins, while running around high on sugar and love.
The details for the children’s little Valentine’s Day party were so sweet and delightful — my sis never disappoints with her sense of style and creativity. Plus, the valentine lunch menu was delicious and her sweet treats were almost too cute to eat. She served broccoli cheese soup, heart-shaped sandwiches, hot artichoke dip, pasta salad, hot white chocolate, cupcakes, cookies, a pink dessert trifle and other Valentine’s themed snacks.
After stuffing our faces, the children exchanged their valentines. Then we tried to corral them for photos in a giant heart-cutout board that I covered in red metallic fringe. This proved nearly impossible, as some of the children were afraid of the giant heart while others simply refused to sit still. But we got a few good photos, so it was worth the effort.
Take a look at my sis’ super sweet Valentine’s Day party. There are so many great ideas that anyone can do for their own party.
(The only thing missing at the party was a good costume. Hopefully next year Richard will dress as our cupid. Fingers crossed!)
I love how my sister used red polka dot wrapping paper as a table runner and then added the pretty tissue paper tassel garland.
Hearts on ribbon hung from the chandelier over the table – such a simple idea that really added to the room.
The place settings were perfect with heart plates from Pottery Barn, little heart dishes, and red utensils tied with heart chalkboard name tags. My sister tied doilies and hearts around milk bottles for their drink glasses. She painted mason jars pink and red for the centerpiece.
Candy was everywhere! The party was a fantasy come true for Owen. 🙂
Adorable valentine treat bags for each of the kiddos, complete with chalkboard name tags.
Here’s the cute hot white chocolate bar:
Along with a pink beverage and pretty straws, of course.
My sister makes the best chalkboards!
Such a cute little Valentine’s Day cake with red sprinkles in the shape of a heart.
Hope you all had as much fun as we did on Valentine’s Day!
