Trying to make your house look merry and bright for the holiday season? I love decorating for the holidays but I don’t want to spend a fortune on holiday items at Pottery Barn. Here are a few budget friendly ways I dress up our home for Christmas.
Holiday Card Display
Instead of throwing out all those Christmas greeting cards, I like to display them through the holidays. I tie yarn around a door inside our home and then attach the cards to the yarn with mini clothespins (gotta love ideas from Pinterest!). Looks adorable and it’s super easy:
Wood Stars
I noticed wood stars to hang on walls or display outdoors at gift shops a couple years ago. They looked so simple to put together, definitely not worth the price they were asking for. Sure enough, they were easy to make; using a few nails and scraps of lath, my dad made a few for me. His stars look awesome and they cost nothing!
Pine Cones and Ornaments
If you have any glass jars or lanterns in your home, fill them with pine cones and/or old ornaments. Pine cones are even better than ornaments because you can find them for free and they can decorate your home for the entire winter season. So next time you see a pine tree, make sure you gather up any pine cones on the ground.
