And just like that she’s nearly one year old. Can we all agree that this has been the fastest year ever?? I’m trying my best to soak in every moment with our soft and playful 11-month-old. It won’t be long before she’s a defiant threenager like her brother.
Carmendy has changed so much in the past month. She’s curious and into everything. She’s persistent, going after electrical outlets and Sophie’s water bowl over and over again. If there’s an accessible staircase nearby, she’ll climb halfway up the stairs the moment that you turn your head away. And nothing makes Carmendy happier than being chased; she giggles hysterically and races away on her hands and knees. She knows she’s up to no good and she loves it.
Despite her newfound mischievousness, she is still an easy, chill baby. She plays well independently, keeps herself occupied, rarely fusses, doesn’t mind when Owen tackles her, and likes to sleep. (Really is there anything better than a baby that likes to sleep??)
But don’t be fooled by her laid-back personality. This kid can be stubborn, feisty, and energetic. She has Owen and Richard’s ability to keep going and going. She likes sleep, but she likes observing the world around her more. Which means she never falls asleep in the car, in the grocery store, on neighborhood walks, or in church. She’s also attracted to the smallest, teeniest items she can see (her eyesight is excellent). I could vacuum the floor a dozen times in a row and she’d still find a tiny piece of dirt. Needless to say, going to a sandy shell-filled beach is a challenge. (It’s okay though, Carmendy. We all have our faults.)
And here are our July-themed photos with the giant chalkboard. Love our nautical girl!
Not many bloopers this month; Carmendy was surprisingly cooperative despite being more mobile. But she did have a fun time with our “props”:
We’re running out of room for the bear. Good thing we only have one month to go!
