She’s one! What a wonderful year it has been with our baby girl Carmendy. I tried to soak in every moment with her, knowing how quickly the days and months go by.
And here I am trying to write a post about the very last month of her first year and I can barely remember a single thing that happened.
We’ve spent lots of days on the beach. Carm still loves the ocean and still loves rolling in the sand (eating it, too). She’s gotten a bit of a tan, which is super cute because the inside of her rolls are still pale. Tan lines that could only be adorable on a baby! We took her on the giant Ferris wheel in Ocean City, NJ and she loved every moment, giggling and clapping. Clearly, she’s braver than her mama.
Seemingly overnight she popped out all of her molars (now she can REALLY bite). She isn’t walking yet, but she’s getting there. She can stand up on her own and take a few steps, but that’s it so far. She is one speedy crawler though. Sometimes she crawls on her hands and feet, rather than her hands and knees, with her ass up in the air. It’s funny watching her zip around; it kind of makes me wish she could stay a crawler forever.
She’s become an imitator over the past few weeks, mimicking the noises that we make. She especially likes to make “Indian” war whoop noises like her Daddy, uncovering and covering her mouth with her pudgy hand.
Unfortunately, over the past few weeks she has also developed an aversion to being in the car. She pretty much screams bloody murder the entire time I’m driving. Her sudden dislike of being in a moving vehicle has made me realize two things:
- Every traffic light will turn red as you approach when your child is crying in the car. You’ll probably run into a detour and unexpected traffic as well.
- When your child has been silent for ten minutes and you’re sure they’re finally asleep and all of the sudden they start wailing, you could possibly pee your pants while driving.
I’m glad we’re sharing the last of these monthly photos, because it’s getting super difficult to take pictures of our girl in a rocking chair. This chick doesn’t want to sit still anymore! We’re lucky we managed to capture these pics. Happy Birthday, Carmendy!
And here are her final chalkboard month-themed photos. It’s time to celebrate! (Carm’s way of celebrating was to suck on her balloon.)
Now for the final bloopers! Carmendy has a secret…or she’s just trying to pick her nose.
She kept throwing her number 12 around this month. Life that twelve, Carmie!
