Hey, it’s me, the mom that forgot to write her baby’s two month post. So here I am writing her three month post, because by the time I remembered to write her monthly update, she was already more than 3 months old.
Oops.
But I would like to point out that I DID remember to take her monthly photos in December. I just failed to do anything with them until now, more than a month later. So in this post I’ll be sharing her two month photos as well as her 3 month photos.
You guys, the past two months have been rough. Winnie had a bad cold and fever at 5 weeks old. The holidays were a hectic stream of busy-ness. Winnie still hates sleeping whenever it is dark outside. I’m adjusting to going back to my pre-Winnie work schedule, and trying to do my part to fight in the resistance. Carmendy refuses to use the potty. In the midst of all this, I’m trying to find time to post on this blog occasionally. And find an hour here and there to watch Netflix in order to remain sane.
As I juggle the stress and exhaustion (which I know so many of you are dealing with too), I’m trying to take moments to cuddle my babies, to laugh with them, and to play with them. These moments are the best moments, and if you don’t see anything new on this blog for a couple weeks, it’s because I’m using my little bits of extra time to enjoy these best moments.
It feels especially imperative to enjoy these moments right now, since Winnie is my last baby and time is oh-so-very fleeting. (And since our country is currently such a hot mess. Moments of pure love are necessary.)
With all that said, let’s get back to the point of this post: Winnie.
Ok, so for realz, Winnie is killing me with her sleeping habits. Or lack thereof. BUT she’s so dang cute. I can’t get enough of her little face.
Winnie sometimes gives off worried vibes. Her expression and the way she holds on to me…she seems anxious. But she’s calm at the same time. I think she may be over-analyzing and internalizing her feelings like her mama. Or maybe I’ve over-analyzing it. Maybe she just has gas.
Winnie loves being cuddled. She also loves to stretch out and lay on the floor. Sleep doesn’t come easily to Winnie because she is constantly curious about what’s going on around her. Her eyes follow us around the room, intently watching everything we do. Her teeth will probably start to make an appearance soon, since she can’t seem to keep her hands out of her mouth. She’s wiggly, and she’s strong and determined in her efforts to sit up. It won’t be long before she can roll over.
The past couple of months have been filled with lots of activity for Miss Winnie. Her first Thanksgiving, first snowfall, trips to Western PA to visit family, first Christmas, a new year, first smiles, a day in New York City, protest marches, her baptism. Winnie is a busy baby.
