Over a month ago, we celebrated Carmendy turning four with a pastel candy birthday party! It was the stuff that Carmendy’s dreams are made of with sweets, sweets and more sweets and pretty pastel colors.
Just like Owen’s party this year, we kept things super simple. No invitation was sent. We casually planned an afternoon at the lake with just her nearby cousins, leaving the date and time flexible depending on the weather (it’s been raining A LOT this summer).
It was small, but it was perfect. Carmendy was ecstatic. After swimming in the lake, we had pizza and cake and then Carmendy opened her gifts. She lined them all up on the lawn, keeping everything organized. It was the cutest thing. And when she saw the table set with all the candy and decorations, she said “My candy looks SO pretty!”
Take a look at her pretty pastel candy birthday party:
I wanted her party to be a rainbow of pastel colors, so I tried to find candy in the right light shades. Necco wafers, Smarties, candy necklaces, marshmallows, butter mints, light purple rock candy, and cotton candy worked perfectly. I displayed all the treats in glass containers.
I also decorated the table with pink plates, milk bottle glasses with pastel ribbon tied around them, and aqua napkins with “napkin rings” made out of candy necklaces. For the center of the table, I glued pastel ribbon in a rainbow of shades to a paper table runner.
The cutest candy garland was made from Styrofoam balls wrapped in pastel colored tissue paper. To make a photo backdrop for Carmendy’s birthday, I spray painted small letter balloons pink and taped them to the wall to write “I LOVE CANDY.” I also tied pieces of pastel ribbon and tulle together to make a pretty garland to hang from the ceiling.
The cake and cupcakes were so easy for this theme! After frosting a cake, I simply decorated it with Necco wafers. And I arranged candy necklaces and Smarties on the tops of the cupcakes.
For the favors, I just packed up individual bags of cotton candy and then the kids filled their bags with the rest of the candy. I made tags for the favor bags that said “candy 4 me” and “candy 4 you” since Carmendy turned 4 — get it?
Carmendy looked so adorable for her birthday; I can’t resist sharing a bunch of photos of her in her party dress!
Adorable!! I wanted to do a cookie themed party for my 2yo, thanks for the inspiration!
