You guys, Valentine’s Day is just five days away. And I’ve got a super cute and fun idea — splat ball valentines!
When I saw red heart-shaped splat balls from Oriental Trading, I knew they would be perfect for Owen’s valentines for his friends.
Throwing a sticky, squishy ball around is pretty much Owen’s version of heaven, and I think most little kids feel the same. So I couldn’t resist using them for valentine treats even though they aren’t exactly parent-friendly. (What parent wants a ball being tossed and splattered on their walls?)
Yep, splat balls have the potential to be as annoying as a recorder. But on the pro side, they aren’t candy or snacks so you don’t have to worry about food allergies. Or giving kids cavities. And to be honest, I prefer not to give candy for valentines simply because I like to keep all the candy for myself.
After I got the heart splat balls, it took a while for me to come up with a valentine card to go along with them. I wasn’t sure about the wording. But then the mother of all puns popped into my head: splat-tacular!
So I went with it and designed this cute and incredibly corny card. And guess what? You can print and use it for your very own splat ball valentines! Click here to download the free printable. It’ll work with any splat balls, not just heart-shaped ones.

I printed the valentines on card stock paper and cut them out. Then I tied a heart splat ball and a card together. Super simple! You could also put the splat ball and the valentine card in a favor bag to make it even easier.
Have a splat-tacular Valentine’s Day, friends!
