I can’t believe it’s May already! Since the new month sneaked up on me, I nearly forgot about Teacher Appreciation Week. Luckily I remembered in time, and I quickly threw together this idea for a teacher appreciation gift tag. My fellow procrastinators, you can totally make this easy and creative card to go along with a sweet treat or any other small gift to give to your child’s teacher before the week is over.
I decided I wanted to make a funny, personalized card to include with a simple treat (I made Saltine Cracker Toffee for Owen’s teachers). Owen has a pretty loud mouth, so with this inspiration, I came up with a thank you “shout out” with a photo of Owen yelling. I think his teachers’ will think it’s super cute and hilarious. Read on to find out how you can make them too with my free printable templates.
“Shout Out” Teacher Appreciation Gift Card
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Paper
- Printable template (blue version, pink version, or yellow version)
- Black and white printed photo of your child
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Step 1
Print out the free printable template on white paper. I designed a blue version, pink version or yellow version, so pick whichever color you fancy for your teacher.
Step 2
Print a photo of your child in black and white. Make sure it’s not too large and that the photo of your child would fit into the printed card template.
Step 3
Cut out the card from the sheet of paper. Then cut out your child’s face from the photo of him or her, trimming off all the surrounding background.
Step 4
Glue the picture of your child’s head to the printed card template, positioning it so it looks like the Thank You word bubble is coming from his or her face.
Step 5
That’s it! Your teacher appreciation gift tag is ready. To finish, just attach it to your gift or treat for the teacher. I punched a couple holes in the teacher appreciation gift tag and tied it with ribbon to a jar filled with goodies.
So cute, right?
Many thanks to all the teachers out there!
