I know I already posted one candy corn-related recipe, but this one actually has candy corn in it and it’s the perfect sweet treat for Halloween. So grab a bag of candy corn and get to baking!
Have you ever had those popular and easy dessert bars called seven layer magic cookie bars or hello dollies? My recipe is a twist on these classic treats, transformed for Halloween.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup roasted peanuts
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups candy corn
2 eggs
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 13 x 9 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Beat them together with an electric mixer on low speed just until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbles.
Press the flour mixture into the bottom of the pan. Bake it for 20 minutes until it’s just turning golden brown. This is the yummy cookie crust bottom!
While the crust is getting toasty in the oven, prepare the topping.
Whisk up the eggs.
Mix in the sweetened condensed milk.
Stir in the coconut.
Then add the white chocolate chips.
And the peanuts.
And last but definitely not least, the candy corn!
Once the crust is ready, remove it from the oven and spread the candy corn mixture evenly over the top. Looks good enough to eat already!
Pop the pan bake in the oven and bake an additional 30 minutes.
The finished product is sticky like a candy bar and just as addictive and sweet as trick-or-treat loot.
I mean, really, how can a mixture of candy corn, peanuts, coconut, and white chocolate not taste delicious?
Trust me, you won’t want to hand this out to trick-or-treaters. You’ll want to keep all for yourself. Happy Halloween!
