Recently I crafted decorations for a bridal shower that my friend planned for her best friend. Her best friend is a Philadelphia native and loves all things Philly. Using a picture of the happy couple with the famous LOVE Park sculpture and her love of Philly as inspiration, I created the shower decorations (enthusiastically I might add, since I love the City of Brotherly Love too!).
Wanting to keep the celebration elegant, we avoided an over-the-top tourist-like feel with the theme. I think the results were pretty, personal and bridal shower worthy, but still showed a love for Philly. Take a look!
I made a banner of the silhouette of the Philadelphia skyline with the LOVE sign in the center to hang in the room.
Heart-shaped soft pretzels were served in baskets on the tables. You can’t have a Philadelphia party without pretzels.
On the tables, I arranged glass bottles and jars in a variety of sizes filled with white, purple and pink flowers. To these arrangements, I added Philadelphia-themed words with city skylines cut out of card stock and heart-shaped photos of Philly landmarks on wood craft sticks. The words and photos included some of the bride’s favorite things: the Phillies, Eagles, Wawa, Tastykakes, cheesesteaks, etc.
On the tables, I also scattered heart-shaped confetti cut from photos of Philadelphia and the soon-to-be married couple.
I made another banner with Philadelphia-themed words and heart photos of Philadelphia attached to ribbon; the couple’s names and the LOVE sign were in the middle.
A “Future Mrs. Parker” sign hung from the bride’s seat.
Another silhouette of the Philadelphia skyline decorated the lovely candy buffet, a treat for the guests.
I had such fun making the decorations for this shower. I think all my fellow Philly-lovers will agree that it was great theme. Best wishes to the bride and groom! Now I’m looking forward to picking out a fantastic theme for my sister’s baby shower…
Super cute! Love the theme!
I know I keep saying this, but I think you are so awesome. I think you have such great ideas! I wish there was some way you could have a business! You are so good at what you do. That includes so many things!!!!
Did you use a Cricut to cut out the letters and LOVE sign? If so, what cartridge did you use?
No, I used a Silhouette Cameo to cut out the words and LOVE signs.
where was the bridal shower located at? Im as well a Philadelphia native and planning my twin sisters bridal shower; which is going to be Phillies team theme however I do not have any ideas of a location.
It was held at Estia in Center City. Good luck with the shower!
