Cards for Valentine’s Day Written The Toddler Way

As I’m picking out and planning Valentine cards for this year’s February 14th lovefest, I thought to myself “What would my child’s real Valentines message be for his preschool friends?” I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t give cute little Pinterest-crafted cards with clever sayings (“You’re toad-ally cool, Valentine!”) and coordinating non-candy gift (plastic toy jumping frog). If he made a Valentine card himself, it would most likely be a torn piece of paper with a booger smeared on it, with all candy and toys kept for him alone.

And if he could read and write and articulate his thoughts, his valentines messages would be a mess of self-centered, toddler-ridiculousness. Since he can’t read or write or even wipe his own ass, I decided to put my child’s valentines thoughts into words, using his toddler mind-frame. And I have to say with toddler confidence, I nailed it. The resulting valentines are spot on and HILARIOUS. You might want to print them and hand them out at your kid’s daycare or preschool. (Seriously, I recommend it.)

So here you go. Roses are red. Violets are blue. These valentines are actually true:
